Sadly, COVID19 has robbed us of campus life this fall semester. Queens College instructors are doing what they can to make sure that students can continue their studies while campus is closed, but college is about more than classes. Part of the college experiences comes from the unique people, exciting projects, and life’s lessons upon which we stumble while walking the halls, crossing the quad, or waiting in line for a slice at Gino’s.
The QC Pod is a pilot podcast series that features brief conversations with the people who make up the Queens College community. We meet faculty, students, administrators, and alumni to discuss their projects, ideas, and views on the College and wider world. Our inaugural episode features Mindy Rhindress, former Senior Vice President at Abt Associates and current Adjunct Professor in Queens College’s Data Analytics and Applied Social Research Program.
This pilot series is slated to run for about ten episodes. The exercise will provide QC faculty and students with an occasion to learn about and experiment with the podcast medium and will serve as part of a wider research and development project on podcast entrepreneurship. It will generate meaningful work-study opportunities for students with ambitions in the media industry, and provide our community members with a taste of campus life while we are remote.
